  • Paralegal (Permanent – Full-time)

    Salary - £25,229-£26,051 per year

    The post holder will act as part of a team charged with undertaking the Commission’s review of the adequacy and effectiveness of law and practice relating to the protection of human rights in Northern Ireland.

    The post holder will be required to keep up-to-date with a broad set of issues relating to the work of the Commission, understand how legal services supports the Commission’s priorities and underpins delivery to service users.

    The role will support the Solicitors (Legal and Research Officers) and the Head of Legal Services in providing paralegal support, including administrative support and undertaking research.

  • Administrative Officer (Permanent – Full-time)

    Salary - £21,370-£23,483 per year

    The post holder will provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Commission, through the post holder’s individual actions and also as part of the broader corporate services team.

    The role will support the Finance, Personnel and Corporate Affairs Officer and the Director (Finance, Personnel and Corporate Affairs) in providing a range of finance, personnel and corporate administrative tasks, including supporting the legal team by acting as first point of contact for all enquiries to the organisation.

  • Independent Chairperson of the Audit and Risk Management Committee

    ​The Chairperson of the Audit and Risk Management Committee will ensure that the Committee fulfils its responsibilities and duties as laid out in the Committee’s Terms of Reference. S/he will also ensure that the Committee works in partnership with the Accounting Officer to ensure an effective relationship between the Committee and the Commission and they will provide advice and guidance on audit and risk related matters to the Commission as and when required.

    The Committee comprises an independent Chairperson and three Commissioners. This position carries a 3 year tenure. The successful applicant must commit to a minimum of four meetings per year, with additional meetings as agreed. This is a paid role, remunerated at £350 per meeting (or equivalent for other additional work to be agreed in advance).
